Primary Care confronts unparalleled challenges including strained doctors, inadequate retention and recruitment, and overwhelming patient demands, resulting in a substantial departure of staff. In response to this pressing issue, The Training Network (TTN) acknowledges the imperative for transformation and is excited to declare the nationwide introduction of its distinctive Facilitator Training initiative, under the guidance of co-founder Lindsay Dubock.

Press Release – Facilitator Training

General Practice turns to facilitated development: The Training Network Offers a Solution with Unique Facilitator Training.

Primary Care is facing unprecedented challenges with overworked doctors, poor retention and recruitment, and overwhelming demands from patients, causing a massive staff exodus. The Training Network (TTN) recognises the urgent need for change and is pleased to announce the national launch of its unique Facilitator Training program, led by co-founder Lindsay Dubock.

On Thursday, 7th September 2023, TTN unveiled this ground-breaking initiative, which aims to bring General Practice staff together and foster a sense of unity and purpose within the sector. The Facilitator Training sessions are designed as an extension of TTN’s successful ‘Working Together’ program, originally developed in collaboration with Lewisham Training Hub and presented to over 350 clinical and non-clinical staff at Broadway Theatre, London, earlier this year.

The ‘Working Together’ session garnered exceptionally positive response and has proven to be a hotbed of innovation delivering tangible results through several groups feedback / case studies that underscores its efficiency:

A prominent London based Primary Care Network (PCN) has extended its collaboration with TTN, embarking on the implementation of diverse solutions to elevate network practices. This marks a substantial occasion for TTN to actively contribute to the progressive refinement of PCN practices. The favorable feedback underscores the effectiveness and receptiveness of the initial session, undoubtedly instrumental in solidifying this expanded collaboration. All in all, this stands as a remarkable accomplishment for TTN, underscoring their adeptness in furnishing invaluable aid and remedies to Primary Care practices.

One participating medical practice has launched regular “Interactive Teamwide Meetings,” and has noticed significant advancements. By uniting the team in this seemingly obvious way and fostering collaboration between clinical and administrative staff, they have gained insights through the philosophy of ‘walking a mile in someone else’s shoes.’ This simple yet impactful strategy has not only boosted team efficiency but also improved relational dynamics and streamlined communication within the team.

Another large practice, operating in a partnership model, has successfully established a unified mission, vision, and purpose, all underpinned by distinctive branding. This strategic move has cultivated a shared sense of purpose and direction. As a result, the practice has witnessed heightened levels of collaborative teamwork and a notable uptick in performance across both team and project metrics.

With 15 years of experience within Primary Care, TTN, in partnership with Lindsay Dubock, has crafted these sessions to provide a structured and guided environment to identify and define the core values of organisations and the mission of their teams.

The sessions facilitate whole group discussions, addressing challenges such as:

  • Gaining insights into the organisation’s present condition
  • Establishing forthcoming goals and targets
  • Identifying potential hurdles and challenges
  • Formulating the required course of actions
  • Discovering the distinctive qualities that define the team
  • Assessing and finalising the discussion

By addressing these fundamental elements, participating practices can expect numerous benefits, including:

  • A unified and cohesive team
  • Enhanced overall wellbeing
  • A stronger sense of belonging
  • Mutual respect among team members
  • A camaraderie that emphasises teamwork
  • A happier and more positive working environment for all staff

The Facilitator Training sessions have specific targets, aiming to achieve:

  • Clear identification of core values
  • A well-defined Mission Statement
  • Increased alignment among team members
  • Improved decision-making processes
  • Enhanced focus on common goals
  • Strengthened organisational culture
  • Increased motivation and engagement
  • Improved communication within the team
  • Informed and effective goal-setting
  • Positive impact on the organisation

Mark Edwards, co-founder of TTN, expressed his excitement about the offering, saying, “This is a truly unique offering, never before seen in Primary Care at a time when it is most needed. Seeing staff unified and with a true sense of purpose is wholly exciting.”

The Training Network, co-founded by Lindsay Dubock and Mark Edwards, is dedicated to providing unrivalled, engaging training to Primary Care staff. Their mission is to support Primary Care and the NHS during these challenging times by delivering high-quality, professional training.
